From Rooted to Rising: Ground Yourself with the Root Chakra, Garnet, and Ruby
Hello, my beautiful community! 🌿
As we step into this new year, I can’t help but feel the energy of fresh beginnings and grounded intentions. This year, I’m thrilled to announce Rooted to Rising, a 7-week journey through the chakras—a course designed to help you align your energy, elevate your spirit, and root yourself in your truth.
What better way to start the year than by focusing on the foundation of it all: the Root Chakra? Today, we’ll explore how the grounding energy of garnet and ruby can help you find stability and security, and I’ll guide you through some practices to reconnect with this vital energy center. At the end of this post, I’ll share a special guided meditation to deepen your connection to the Root Chakra. Let’s root ourselves in intention and rise together!
Why Start with the Root Chakra?
Think of the Root Chakra like the roots of a tree. Without strong roots, a tree can’t grow tall, and neither can we. The Root Chakra, located at the base of your spine, is your energetic anchor. It’s where your sense of safety, stability, and connection to the Earth resides.
When your Root Chakra is balanced, you feel calm, grounded, and ready to take on life’s challenges. But if it’s out of alignment, it can leave you feeling anxious, scattered, and even physically unwell. For me, personally, grounding has been a game-changer—whether through meditation, nature, or gemstones like garnet and ruby.
1. Garnet: Your Pocket-Sized Earth Anchor
Garnet is one of my all-time favorite stones for grounding. Its deep red hue feels like a warm embrace, bringing strength and stability. Whenever I’m feeling overwhelmed, I reach for my garnet bracelet or place a small garnet stone in my pocket.
✨ Why Garnet is Perfect for the Root Chakra: This stone is a master at connecting you to the Earth’s energy. Garnet isn’t just grounding—it’s also energizing, helping you stay motivated and focused on your goals.
🛠️ Try This: Before you start your day, hold a garnet in your hand and set an intention: “I am grounded. I am secure.” Wear a garnet bracelet as a daily reminder of this energy. You can find our handcrafted Root Chakra Bracelet here.
2. Ruby: Passionate Energy for Stability and Joy
Ruby is a stone of vibrant energy—it’s grounding but also inspires passion and confidence. Think of ruby as the gemstone that says, “You’ve got this!” It’s also associated with abundance and prosperity, making it an incredible stone for turning grounded stability into creative action.
✨ Why Ruby Supports the Root Chakra: Ruby connects deeply with the Root Chakra, reminding you that being rooted doesn’t mean being stuck—it means you have a solid foundation to grow.
🛠️ Try This: Wear our Ruby Woven Bracelet or place a ruby in your meditation space to enhance feelings of stability and joy. As you meditate, focus on the mantra: “I am strong. I am safe. I am supported.” Explore our Ruby Woven Bracelet here.
3. Meditation: A Journey to Your Roots
One of the most powerful ways to work with the Root Chakra is through meditation. Over the years, I’ve found that combining meditation with the energy of garnet or ruby creates a truly grounding experience.
✨ Guided Meditation: I’ve created a special meditation for you to use with this blog, designed to help you root into the Earth and awaken your sense of stability. It’s part of my upcoming Rooted to Rising course, and I’m so excited to share it with you! Find a comfortable space, hold your favorite grounding stone, and let this practice connect you to your foundation.

🛠️ Try This: Dedicate a few minutes each day to this meditation. Even if you only have time to take three deep breaths while imagining roots growing from your base into the Earth, you’ll feel the difference.
4. Root Chakra Rituals: Ground Your Body and Mind
Grounding practices don’t have to be elaborate. Simple, intentional moments can make a world of difference. Here are a few ways I like to connect with my Root Chakra:
Nature Time: Walk barefoot in the grass or sand. Feel the Earth beneath your feet and let it anchor you.
Aromatherapy: Use cedarwood or patchouli essential oil during meditation or apply it to your wrists before you start your day.
Yoga Poses: Try poses like Mountain Pose or Warrior I to strengthen your connection to the Earth.
🛠️ Try This: Create a grounding ritual by combining one of these practices with your garnet or ruby jewelry. Let it serve as a tangible reminder of your intention to stay rooted.
5. Signs Your Root Chakra is in Balance
When your Root Chakra is aligned, life feels different—in the best way. Here are some signs that your Root Chakra is thriving:
A deep sense of safety and trust in the universe
Resilience in the face of challenges
Physical vitality and a healthy connection to your body
An unshakable calmness, no matter what life throws your way
✨ My Personal Journey: Grounding didn’t always come naturally to me. It’s something I’ve learned to cultivate over the years, especially during my travels to India, where I immersed myself in chakra healing. Practices like walking barefoot on sacred grounds and meditating with gemstones like garnet and ruby helped me reconnect with my foundation. These experiences inspired me to create Rooted to Rising, and I can’t wait to share this journey with you.
